Central Indiana home sales in January plummeted 27 percent from a year ago, continuing a downward trend. The number of home closings in the 13-county area fell to 1,395 last month from 1,912 a year ago, according to a preliminary count of Realtor-represented sales by Landrigan & Co. Realtors of Indianapolis. The average sale price climbed 5 percent, to $146,273. It now will take 13.6 months to sell all the homes in the 13-county market, compared with an 11-month inventory a year ago, Landrigan said. (Star report)
