Local Realtors have good and bad news for Boone County home buyers and sellers.
More houses sold last month than in the same month in 2008, according to information from Landrigan & Company Realtors. Forty-nine Boone County homes sold in April, compared to 46 in April 2008. Realtors sold 51 Boone County homes in March.
Although sales might be trending slightly upward, average home sale prices are down nearly $35,000 from the previous year. The average home sale price was slightly more than $213,000, down from more than $239,000 in April 2008.
Although sale prices were significantly lower, the Boone County homes sold for, on average, more than homes in any other area around Indianapolis with the exception of Hamilton Countyıs Clay Township. Out of the nine most expensive homes sold in the greater Indianapolis area this year, three have been in Zionsville.
More than 600 Boone County homes remain on the market.
